Arnaldo Pomodoro. Una Vita

BRH+ designed the exhibition architecture and graphic identity for the major retrospective dedicated to Arnaldo Pomodoro at Gallerie d’Italia in Milan.

Organised in collaboration with the Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation and curated by Luca Massimo Barbero and Federico Giani, the exhibition traces more than six decades of artistic research by one of the leading figures of post-war Italian and international contemporary art. The exhibition brings together forty-five works from the Intesa Sanpaolo Collections and the Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation, alongside a significant selection of archival materials that illuminate the breadth and complexity of the artist’s creative practice.

For this project, BRH+ developed an exhibition design defined by clarity, precision and restraint, conceived to enhance the sculptural presence and spatial qualities of Pomodoro’s work. Radiating from the exhibition’s central nucleus, a white platform populated by monumental sculptures in the museum’s main hall, the design unfolds through a sequence of spatial devices that create multiple paths of movement and perspectives for viewing. Linearity, lightness and compositional rigor shape an experience that places artwork, architecture and visitor in continuous dialogue, revealing the dynamic relationship between matter, light and space that lies at the heart of Pomodoro’s artistic language.
