Male Arcana (Volume I)
Carlo Pignatelli presents himself at Pitti Immagine Uomo 97 with a special Capsule that expresses the refined rate of creativity and manufacturing knowledge of the Sartoriale collection: the products are revealed through the story of two specific archetypes of personality and style, both included in the concept of Male Arcana – inspired by the idea of the four natural elements from which each substance originates.
Volume I of the series includes The Volcano and The Well, arcana that relate respectively to the elements of fire and water; Volume II – unveiled on the occasion of the next Spring-Summer 2021 men’s collection – will present The Tree and The Comet connected to earth and air.
THE VOLCANO
FIRE > THE SPIRIT: CREATION
The Volcano is the first figure of the Male Arcana. It represents the ingenious man, the designer, the builder: an alchemist who transmutes spiritual intuition into pulsating matter. Its element is fire: visceral energy that projects one’s own solar “I” into the spheres of limpid capacity of creation. His clothes: with textures like rock and brilliant like incandescent lava. The patterns are a reminder of the raw materiality of the natural universe, which lives in symbolic embroidery with the geometries of precious stones. Colors: bronze, fire red, lava black.
THE WELL
WATER > THE EMOTION: EXPERIMENT
The Well is the second figure of the Male Arcana. It represents the receptive, open and sensitive man: his dominant trait coincides with the intensity and purity of his emotional charge. Its element is water: a liquid force that seeks its way, which tends to exploration, which pursues discovery through the instrument of experiment. His clothes: with fluid reflections, refer to unexplored depths obtained with jacquard degradè. Silvery sparkles and dark refractions animate the textile surfaces, making them three-dimensional. The colors: silver, abyss black.
